You are sailing on a windwards course when it starts to rain. You want to put on your wet weather gear.
But when you let go of the helm the boat changes direction immediately. So you fix the tiller to keep the boat on course. You dash inside and grab your wet weather gear.
You are back at the helm just in time to correct the boat's new direction back to the desired course. The combination of wind and waves took the boat to a different heading. Back at the helm you struggle to get the gear on whilst still keeping the boat on course. After putting on your gear you face forward to steer the boat. You keep being sprayed with water.
This is not how you want to go sailing.
The solution
Back on dry land you find a computer and go to www.mistervee.com.
You order a box of parts, put them together with the help of a manual filled with detailed pictures and fix the resulting system to your boat.
Now all you have to do to keep the boat on the desired course is connect a chain link to a hook on the tiller, rotate a part of the system to face the wind, and then release it by moving a slider upwards. What happens then?
The apparent wind direction stays the same. A windward course stays a windward course. The sails need no attention. A wind shift is followed automatically.
You no longer need to sit at the helm all the time! You are Vree to move about the boat, sit where it is most comfortable, get a drink or prepare a meal. It may even allow you to hoist the sails or put in a reef without worrying about where the wind is coming from. You occasionally check for other traffic but no need to let your face get showered when it rains.
The result?
You can take your trips in more comfort. Go the distance without getting tired.
You experience a sea of Vreedom.
This story is based on reality. It is my story. But I did not go to www.mistervee.com, I created it, and the self steering systems you can buy here.
I created a windvane self steering system to get Freedom for myself and now I offer it to you:
Freedom with a Vee.
Here is the video with me showing off my windvane self steering system.
